We went into hospital for a checkup on November 26th at 1pm. But, by the time the doctor was able to see us (4 and a half hours later) the waters had broken and Wellington was on his way. Andrea was so distracted by the labour that she lost four games of rummy in a row (although Andrew was accused wrongly of cheating).
Thomas Lawrence Ashton was born at 9.54am on November 27th and arrived home on November 28th (just now). Thomas weighed in at 7lbs exactly and measured 52cm (21in) including his extra long head.
Everyone is glad to be home and ready to eat some supper, which is certainly preferable to the NHS offerings : )

Hi Andrea!
This is Kate talking. He is so cute! Mom is so excited to be one of the first ones to see him!
I can't wait to see him - when are you coming or moving to Maine?
I can't wait to see you again!
I agree that he needs a few more outfits.
Where'd all that hair come from - we think he needs a haircut!

Dear Andrea and Andrew,
Congratulations on having the most beautiful baby ever! What a little doll he is!!! Is he sleeping a lot? Does he make any noises?? Is he just as darling in person?? I can't wait to see him this summer! Please say you are not going to Maine in July as I will be in England.
Love and hugs to the baby,
Merrilyn
He is a handsome boy! I wish I could hold him-
Give him lots of hugs and kisses from his grandmother in Maine-
Love you all,
Grandmother Teresa
Hello Sister!
He is very cute but I will not be fully convinced that you even have a child until I see him. And I do not think I approve of this whole Wellington Boot thing, there is something not quite right about it. Thirdly, I hear all those well laid plans have gone somewhat awry. I believe when I told you they would you retorted with something to the effect of "Well, I'm not you and have everything planned out." In conclusion, hahaha.
